During an operation, on my shoulder, at the Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle, Cheshire, I had a tachycardia episode. As a result, the anaesthetic recommended I see a cardiology consultant. This was very worrying as I was due to go on holiday, in two weeks and go into hospital for a Cochlear Implant. I contacted the Alexandra Hospital and got an appointment, with Doctor David Fox, the next day. Dr Fox has a very pleasant attitude and immediately put me at ease. When told I was profoundly deaf he made a great effort to enunciate his words so I could understand him. He carried out an ECG and gave me an immediate, encouraging result. He then arranged for me to wear a heart monitor for 7 days, a Cardiac Ultrasound and a Cardiac CT Scan. All were dealt with and completed in ten days. Dr Fox emailed my GP with his recommended medication. That wasn't the end. The CT Scan found lesions on my liver. Dr Fox was very optimistic and the lesions were invariably benign cysts. He arranged for the scan to be carried out on my liver. As soon as he received the result he rang my husband and informed him the lesions were benign cysts. Knowing how worried I was about the implant operation, Dr Fox assured me there was no problem with going ahead. He also drafted some letters and emailed them to me. These were to forward to the hospital, for the attention and advice of the anaesthetic. The service received from Dr Fox was unbelievable. That, with the brilliant assistance of his secretary, Claire made a very traumatic situation so much easier to endure. I was able to enjoy my holiday and when I attended hospital for my implant, the anaesthetist made a point of mentioning he had read Dr Fox’s letters and he would act on them accordingly. The operation was a complete success and no problems occurred in relation to my high heart rate. I have nothing but admiration for Dr Fox, as a person and the extremely professional, efficient and the expeditious way he dealt with my situation. I strongly recommend Dr Fox to anyone who needs treatment for anything concerning the heart.

I was advised to see Dr David Fox regarding my deteriorating heart condition the advice he gave me was the consideration of a CRT pacemaker after further tests I decided to go ahead with the procedure. This was carried out at the Alexandra Hospital on the 24th of February which resulted in an overnight stay. The care and professional support lead by Dr David Fox and his team was exemplary and in my opinion could not be bettered. Since having the CRT pacemaker fitted my everyday health has improved so much my energy levels are unbelievable. Dr Fox is considering a small procedure of Ablation which would further improve my overall health but he says there is no rush and I have his contact to call at anytime. My total confidence in Dr Fox is immense and I respect his forthright way he offers advice in a no nonsense approach.
